Chances of admission?

<p>hey. I’m currently going through the beginning stages of admission into the AFA. I know my acceptance is a long shot, but was wondering if anyone could give me advice on how to possibly boost my chances.</p>

<p>Here are my stats:
GPA: 3.75 unweighted. class rank: 30/275
PSAT: verbal-63 math- 58
ACT: 30 composite
APs taken: european history, chemistry, biology, microeconomics, macroeconomics, government, US history, English, possibly physics next year, psych next year.</p>

<p>extra curriculars and awards
-Varsity tennis since 8th grade: captain for 2 years.- team finishes of 2nd, 3rd, 5th and season currently in progress
-academic challenge bowl team, no significant awards
-NHS
-2nd place finish at ND state econmics bowl
-NASS this summer - missed deadline for AFA ss
-cross-country
-youth leader at local elementary school
-Activity leadership council nominee
-Key Club
-Envirometal Club
-school musical - pit orchestra
-7th in state, national french exam level III
-Academic letter winner
-School art trip to europe
-Psychology trip with local college to China
-volunteer at local hospital 2 hours a week
-blood donor- every eight weeks
-Student of the quarter nominee</p>

<p>Are there any large gaps in my resume that need work?</p>

<p>SAT... definitly... it's still ok... but not good enough to be really competative... usually to be competative you have to have at least combined 1300, 1400 would give you a really good shot... everything else looks great</p>

<p>They really like cross country, but the tennis shows leadership I think. You look pretty good I would say.</p>
