Tufts- In
Princeton and Yale- reaches

Thanks  Do you think that I should still apply to Princeton and/or Yale, or are they major reaches?

Anyone else? I’d really appreciate some feedback!

I incorporated your scores, GPA, leadership, and extracurriculars into a systematically devised function of calculatory means that I developed to precisely calculate percent chance of admission to various universities in the US and abroad. The results are as follows (these are the percent chances that you will be accepted at the below named institutions of higher educatory education):

Tufts University: 38.913%
Princeton University: 21.160%
Yale University: 19.995%

Please note that these are only derived from my own personal formula which seems to accurately predict admissions chances pretty well. Hope that helps!

Thanks NewStudent…
Also, my school is actually pretty good. Although not many kids are in advanced classes (about 10% of each grade), we have a very heavy workload … my classes are, by no means, easy.

Thinking about the fact that only about 10% of my grade is in Honors/AP classes, I’ll probably be closer to the top 5% of my graduating class.

Your chances might actually be a bit higher than predicted, especially at Tufts University, due to the way my formula is compounded (your writing award achievements may bear more weight, but since no specifics were given, they are categorized as “Award.NOS.mR.” Do your essays involve sob stories (re: depression, divorce, etc.)?

No, my essays don’t involve sob stories… hahaah

Sorry… not naming the specific awards for privacy reasons, but they are pretty competitive.

tufts seems to be the most likely, a target school. The other two are reach, unless you being north african makes you “african-american” though I doubt they count sephardic jews as such.

Chance me back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/898730-chances-duke-penn-cornell.html</a></p>

BTW- I was wrong. My critical reading score was a 770 and my writing score was a 780The scores that I wrote were from the first time that I took it…this was my 2nd time.

Thanks tjkid…Yeah, I’ve wondered about that!

Also, forgot to mention that I have my own translation service. I offer free English-> Spanish translations and vice versa for the people in my town. This will be my 2nd summer doing it.

Bumpp. Are Princeton or Yale out of the question or am I a possible contender? Does my uncle’s alum status give me any advantage at all?

Princeton and Yale are hard for everyone. I’m not too sure about their legacy policies, but I don’t think uncles or aunts count. Someone correct me if I’m wrong.

You’ll probably get into Tufts, but Princeton and Yale will be somewhat of a long shot. You still have a chance though.

Chance me back?
