Chances of Being Rescinded from Princeton

Princeton saw my first semester grades which were approximately...

AP Biology: A-
AP Art: A+
AP Euro: A+
AP English: A-
Multivariate: A

For the third marking period, they're roughly:
AP Biology: A
AP Art: A+
AP Euro: A-
AP English: A-
Multivariate: B/B+

My school has been telling us not to drop in our grades because apparently colleges are getting a lot tougher and my GPA has dropped roughly 2-3% on the 100 point scale (Like 95/96ish to a 93ish overall)... am I at risk for having to write Princeton a letter explaining my lower academics or will I be okay? I'm mostly worried about Math and like a big drop A+ to A- in a couple of my classes...

Also, do AP scores matter? I'm not expecting to do well on AP Art, and if I get like a 2 will I be rescinded? Do I have to send them to Princeton?

AP scores don’t matter. There’s no way you’ll get rescinded for those grades. You’re fine.

You would never get rescinded for having an A-, nonetheless a single B. This is a ridiculous post, and I’m astounded that someone who got into Princeton would ask this.

I hate when people say things like this. We don’t get into schools because our vast knowledge of the intricacies of college policy. Why would anyone know for sure unless they’ve dealt with it before. You just want the OP to feel bad.
OP, those grades will be fine! Congrats on getting into Princeton! Is that where you’ve decided to go?

Yes u will be rescinded…it is a really stupid question. When a school tacks about grades dropping we re talking C and Ds, in more than one class. If colleges rescinded anyone whose grades dropped three percent , they would have ,any open seats.

Sometimes people need to think. Too bad they don’t teach critical thinking in high school.

^This .

I only posted this on CC because a lot of people on this forum are well aware of college admissions and policy. I never really thought rescinding acceptances was common, but I wanted a second opinion mainly because I have heard different stories this year in particular. I have friends who are in Facebook groups who claim that there are people in various Class of 2016 groups (for liberal arts colleges and other top tier schools) that have had to send letters to their colleges explaining their drop in grades (about 2% overall in one case, and 5+% in a single class). I’m just curious as to whether colleges are being stricter about maintaining high academic standards or if this is just a fluke.

I am so sorry for wasting thirty seconds of your life by directly influencing your voluntary decision to type an asinine response to an otherwise valid question.

Yup! I was admitted SCEA and have been committed/done with the admissions process ever since December 15! :)

lol… no.

I got a C+ in Calc BC my senior year and Yale didn’t say a word. Everything else was A/A- range though.

I hope this helps you sleep at night.
