<p>well, moving from top 10% to top 5% in a class of 23 is moving from #2 to #1 unless I'm missing something.</p>

<p>Anyway, at CMU a lot depends on what school you are going to apply to within CMU.</p>

<p>You apply directly to a school at CMU, unlike most colleges. Yes in HSS, No in Computer Science, No in Drama, etc etc. Yes in most places</p>

<p>Btw. congrats on the balanced SAT score! I have a similar score but very unbalanced(800M and it all goes downhill from there).</p>
