Chances of cockrell school of engineering at UT Austin

<p>My child is in the top 12% of his class, weighted GPA of a 5.2, SAT 2100, All AP or Pre-AP classes, all AP's passed with fives (so far). Varsity band, band officer, NHS, Engineering club officer, Started Rotary Intract club and current president, STEM Academy ambassador for the school, many leadership awards from the district, selected for several leadership camps, has job shadowed in petroleum engineering, has created job shadowing for the school within different areas of studies.</p>

<p>What are my child's chances of getting into petroleum engineering at UT Austin?</p>

<p>I think he has a decent chance, but his class rank might keep him out.</p>

<p>He has a very good chance considering his extracurriculars, AP scores, and SAT.</p>

<p>I think he a great chance. My son is very similar and will applying to Cockrell also and has similar stats but he was an ACT person instead of SAT but not quite as much leadership. Good luck to both of them!</p>
