I am a sophomore with a 3.7 gpa and a 2000 on sat. I’m plan to apply to Cornell early decision. Will my grades cut it or do I have to bump them up? If so, what grades should I have to get in? Thanks

I got into Cornell last year with a MUCH worse GPA. They seemed to care more about eclectic extracurriculars, strong writing skills, and standardized testing, at least as evidenced by the other people I know who were accepted. Perhaps work on your SAT score, but a 3.7 GPA is nothing to sniff at!

My D applied ED to Cornell this year. She got rejected with a 4.0w gpa (probably about a 3.8 uw gpa) and a 2000 SAT. She applied to CAS. I think she needed to get her SAT score up, probably at least a 2100.
