What are my chances of getting into UF, FGCU, and UCF?

-3.2 unweighted GPA, 3.8 GPA (It'll probably rise to a 4.0 by the end of the year.)
-Majority of my classes are honors and I have 1 AP class credit
-SAT score is 1260 with writing (really low I know.)

-Key Club ( 1 year)

-S.W.A.T Club (Students Working Against Tobacco) (2 years)
I'm also one of the county committee leaders

-KOSB Club (2 years)

-National Honors Society

-Photography Club

-Art Club

-Varsity Cross Country (2 years)

-Track and field (1 year)

-Over a hundred hours of community service

I'll also be writing an essay, and getting letters of recommendation. I'm really nervous about applying. I feel like my SAT score will hinder my acceptance. Numerous people have told me I have nothing to worry about with getting into FGCU ( I really want to go here) but I feel like any school I apply to, I won't get in. Can someone please give me some advice? Do you think I can get into FGCU? I know I have a slim chance of getting into UCF and UF. Oh, I'm also graduating high school a year early because I was held back in elementary school. Feedback would be appreciated!

Sorry to say, but I personally don’t think you have any chance at all with UF. Their average SAT is around like 1800s+ if you include writing. With that said, I also don’t think you have really a chance at UCF either, with their averages of SAT’s at about 1700’s+ including writing. Maybe I’m wrong, but I do doubt it.

I don’t know about FGCU though. The 25-75% range of their scores on SAT were:
CR 470-550
M 470-550
W-450-540.
From what you’re saying, even they may be a reach (But then again, maybe your GPA is high for them and offset it?).

I honestly think maybe try the ACT? Some do much better on one rather than the other, but with the scores now I don’t think you have much of a shot. And sorry if I ruined your dreams D: I just wanted to let you know.

Maybe you could even look into Stetson (private)? They are ranked #3 in southern universities, much much higher than FGCU (I think FGCU is #74 so Stetson is definitely better), and are test-optional. The application may even be free. Visited there and it was really nice! You can pm me if you have any more questions.

I’m taking the SAT again next month, and I’ve actually been studying. I didn’t study at all when I first took it and I didn’t know a majority of the math because at the time I was a sophomore but I’m graduating early so hopefully they’re be a lot of trig and algebra 2 on the test. I’m pretty good at that.

Numerous people have actually told me I have a good chance at getting accepted to FGCU because of my gpa and extracurriculars. I know UCF and UF are a huge strech, and I’m not expecting to get in, but I’m still going to try you know? I’m a great essay writer so maybe that will help. But I doubt all three would decline me, at least one has got to accept me.

Good(SAT’s can be mastered, wish I payed attention to that beforehand)! And maybe I am wrong about FGCU; it’ll never hurt to apply. Good luck with the SAT’s and applications!
