I'm a senior in high school right now and I was wondering what my chances are for being accepted into Scripps college, which is easily my number one choice. I have an off campus interview with a Scripps rep on the 16th of this month but I have never visited their campus. Though I know that interviews don't usually count toward admission, since Scripps is so small, I'm just hoping they will in this case! Do they?

I'm a really outgoing person with a 3.75 overall GPA and a 2260 for SATs with a 680 in math, 780 in reading, and 800 in writing.

I'm applying as an anthropology major.

My classes are actually not that challenging in terms of APs, though I took mostly honors classes. The only AP test I took was for studio art in which I got a 4. I am currently taking AP Stats, Bio, and Lit.

I am publicity manager for an art and literary club and I am confident that my rec letters will be pretty good. I also worked in a lab at USC for four months.

I got a 750 in the SAT Bio test and will be taking SAT Chem and Lit this year. I expect scores in the early seven hundreds.

Did you take the ACT? I’m not very knowledgeable on SAT I scores, so don’t mind me. Your scores don’t seem too bad, though. I’d say it still may be a reach. Just make sure to make those essays really unique. Good luck! <3

@Lizz123108. You sound like a great match for Scripps. Scripps puts a lot of emphasis on personal essays as well as an interview if you had a chance to go through one. Grades and scores are also, of course, important. But nothing is the be-all-end-all for Scripps admissions. Scripps has a very holistic approach to admissions and everything is usually weighted very equally. Yes, if you have had an interview Scripps takes that into consideration, definitely.

There are so many applicants who are also very qualified. Make sure you have some back ups that you would actually enjoy going to and would be happy at. I don’t believe there is only one school for someone, but I do think there are many schools that are a better fit for someone than others. Your scores are great and so is your grade point average and extra curricular activities, it seems that you’re definitely a match for SCripps.

I think you would make a great addition to the Scripps community and I wish you the best of luck!
