Chances of getting Governor's Dorm

I filed my housing and tuition deposit on April 19th and filed my room preferences the following day. I was accepted to the Honors program and I really want to live at Governors but they make it seem as though filing for housing is very urgent to receive your priority housing. What are my chances of getting the dorm I wanted at Governors?

Scottykid: I do not know the answer to your question up front, but was wondering what your pros and cons are for Governors over the other dorms? What is your major? A good question is whether being in Honors Program, how your chances are in getting into Roosevelt. Wonder how many beds there are in that Hall versus the number of people invited into Honors Program. Is it just for the Freshmen? Where do Honors Program people go their Sophomore year?

My Honors kid chose to move to Ellicott yr 2, but many of his friends chose to stay in Governors’ as sophomores.

Most Honors people go to either Lehman (in Gov) or Ellicott their second year, depending on whether or not they want to stay in Gov. Roosevelt is freshman only. I know in past years there have been less honors students that choose to live in Roosevelt than spaces available in Roosevelt, but can’t say this is always the case.

I spoke with someone from housing at the accepted students day and she said that they really try to put the honors kids who request Governors into Governors. She said if there is an overflow in Roosevelt they might put some kids in other halls in Governors. At least that’s what she told me, hopefully it’s true.

My d deposited last yr 5/1 and was honors and got into Governor’s. I agree with abblg93 that they try and keep honors together. My d liked it there and is in Lehman next year with a group of friends.
