Chances of Getting In?

I already posted in the class of 2021 discussion, but I wanted to post my stats here to get more feedback.

UC GPA: 4.08

ACT: 32

SAT Math Level 2: 720

Decent ECs/Volunteer work

Good/great essays (Personal Insight Qs)

Three Academic awards

Major: Informatics, Alternate: Info & CS undeclared

Top 15 % of my school class/grade (qualified for ELC)

Ethnicity/gender: Asian male

Waitlisted by UCSD and UCD so pretty nervous about Irvine decisions. Irvine is my #1 choice btw.

57% using 2015 numbers.

@uciparent Is that a good percentage? Should I be worried?

@winroo According to the stats provided by @uciparent, those chances are not great. But, don’t stress. You can always take the community college route which would actually be cheaper. And if you keep a 3.4 GPA, you will get guaranteed admission to UCI as a junior through the TAG program.

Is it a good percentage? Yes! It is 3.56 times better than the 16% acceptance rate for GPA of 3.4-3.79, but at 4.2+ GPA the acceptance rate was 97% in 2015, so all in all by looking at GPA alone, odds are better for acceptance than rejection. Hopefully, you will get some good news soon.
