Right now I am thinking about applying to graduate business school to get my MBA right out of college. I have a 3.6 GPA with an Accounting and Computer Information Science Double Major from a top 75 undergrad business school. My Extracurriculars include being the Treasurer for my large fraternity, being the business manager for a student media organization, starting and being the president of a political club, and being the head fundraiser of an event that we can expect to see over $30,000 in donations. I haven’t taken my GMATs yet but I was wondering how my credentials look so far. If anyone can give me some help and insight on how my application looks thus far assuming that I do well on my GMATs (650-710).
My husband received his MBA from USC and found that it was going to be very, very difficult to receive acceptance at any of the top programs without work experience (even with his 3.91 GPA and high GMAT scores). He graduated from UCSB, worked for a few years out of college, and was accepted into many top programs (USC, UCLA, etc). He personally benefited from those few years in the working world as well, as it gave him a much broader perspective on areas to focus during business school (he leaned towards finance where others leaned towards marketing etc). Good luck to you!
