I'm a junior in highschool and I'm currently taking four ap classes. I got a D in AP Calculus for my first semester, if I get an A in that class next semester, will I still be able to get into any UC schools?

Depends on your other grades, but the UCs will accept a student with a D but good grades elsewhere after meeting the a-g requirements.

As long as your GPA is above 3.0, you are in-state and the UC website says you are in the top 9%, you are guaranteed a spot.

Actually, you are only gaurenteed a spot in a UC school if you are the top 9% of your school (in California). Thats called the ELC program. Its calculated based on you 10 and 11th grade gpa. Also, if you are in the top 9% of California, and don’t get into the UC that you applied for, then you can be given addmision to another UC school if there is an opening.

The UC website has a calculator to determine if a person is in the top 9% of California.

It relies on both SAT score and GPA. Plug some numbers into it and you’ll get for example
3.0/2070 as the top 9%.

Thank you so much, gives me hope.
