Chances of getting into Boston University (BU)?

My current and cumulative GPA are currently about the same : 2.75 (Yes, stop rolling your eyes, I know). However I scored a 27 on my ACT and 1960 on the SAT, and if needed those can be retaken.

I'm also looking to take an online course/courses over the summer in things like photoshop, film, etc. I'm not sure what they would be exactly.

I realize that my GPA, well, sucks, but my grades do show an upward trend. My semester GPA Sophomore year was a 2.2 and now, as a junior, it's a 2.75 (I do believe that the GPA of my current grades is a 3.0).

Boston University is my first choice and I will do absolutely anything to get in. I will also be visiting their campus this summer. I will also be in NROTC (Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps) and I would need little to no financial aid. My intended major would be something along Journalism and Film Production.

So, what do you think? Also, do you have any suggestions of what else I should do to build up my resume?

BU: Reach

The best thing to do at this point is: attend another college for a year or two, put your act together there and then transfer into BU.

I agree with above… It’s almost unheard of to get accepted to BU with below a 3.0 gpa. Sorry.

BEcause you do so many other good things you might have a chance…i only had a 3.4 in high school and I just recently got into BU, so maybe if you can pull that GPA up a bit more or talk to past teachers and ask them to change a B to a B+ (only if you know them well) then I believe you have a chance!
