I am a current college freshman looking to transfer to a wide range of different schools, I’m not quite sure which one i want to go to given that I get in but Boston University and Boston College are probably the only schools on my list that are considered “hard” to get into.
high school GPA: 3.0 (Side note: I went to an extremely competitive private school and had a year of very bad grades)
college GPA: 3.7
ACT: 28
The school I am at right now is a liberal arts school in the midwest. It’s an okay school but I don’t like it all. I had terrible luck in the college process and I want to do better for myself. I didn’t try as hard as I could have in high school and I paid the price for it.
let me know what you guys think
I’m planning on doing the same as you. I got into BU originally for my freshman year but did not attend due to money. I had a high school 3.19 GPA and an SAT score of 1860. I think what really got me in was legacy and my duel citizenships as well as my community service. Honestly I don’t know about BC but for BU if you have a strong resume you will be good but I would make sure your gpa doesnt fall below 3.5 for college. What I do now about BC is that I had 3 friends all apply. Two were ethnicly diverse and one was white. They all had about the same resumes and scores since they were friends, the two ethnic ones got in and the white one didn’t. If you are ethnicaly diverse that is such a major player right now every school is trying to diversify so even if you are white my thoughts are to just do everything you possibly can to make yourself stand out. Get strong letters of recommendation and get involved on campus.
