Chances of Getting into Cornell

I am a white male (part Hispanic) and currently a junior in high school, and I am looking into applying to Cornell next year, along with (in order of preference) Notre Dame, Williams, Tulane, Washington and Lee, Davidson, and the University of Florida. I wanted to know what my chances are for getting into Cornell. Here are my stats:

Academic:
-Cumulative Weighted GPA: 4.77
-Cumulative Unweighted GPA: 3.91
-3 AP Classes Junior Year, likely 4 more next year (my school offers AP's to only Juniors and Seniors)
-Class rank: 6 out of 112
-All other classes were honors or dual enrollment with St. Thomas University (Miami)
-SAT Composite Superscore: 2050
CR: 730
M: 600
W: 720
-I will likely have a math tutor this summer to bring that score up
-ACT: 29 (will be taking again next September)

EC'S:
-JV Lacrosse all 3 years, and probably next year as well
-JV Basketball Fresh. and Soph. years, and I'll hopefully make varsity next year
-Elected NHS Parliamentarian for next year
-Nominated to be a Student Ambassador (This is an exclusive and prestigious position for a group of qualified seniors who will represent the school at community events, perform 100 hours of community service, and participate in a career mentorship program)
-Member of History, TV Production, and Science clubs
-Becoming an Eagle Scout this Summer (after I do my required service project)
-Counselor at Summer Vacation Bible Camp
-Altar Server at my Church

You have a decent shot. Chances will improve considerably if you improve your ACt to 33+ or CR/m sat to a mid 1400+

Which school in Cornell are you applying to? If college of engineering or arts and sciences, then that 600 math score will hurt you. You would ideally want a solid 700.

Most likely arts and sciences. I’m currently undecided on what I want to major in but I’m leaning toward government, and I’ve noticed that Cornell offers an International Relations minor, which is attractive to me. Math is not my forte, and I definitely will be reviewing SAT/ACT math over the summer so I can boost my scores. I knew Cornell would be a reach school for me, but I think its worth the try.

Are you a NY State resident? Check out College of HumEc. You may find an interesting major there and NYS residents get a huge break in tuition. Look into applying ED.
