Chances of getting into Davidson College

Hello

I am going to be a high school senior next year. The time to begin college applications is right in sight for me, and i am searching for an honest answer to this question: what are my true chances of getting into Davidson College?

I am an avid participator in NJROTC; have been all through high school. I was the Cadet of the Month, Cadet of the Year, Administration Chief, Company Commander, Executive Officer, Physical Training Team Captain; I attended Leadership Academy and ranked 4th out of 175 other cadets, and I went back this summer as a cadre, and i have received many other awards. I have also done cross country for three years, but i haven't pursued it head on as i did with NJROTC. I am starting to work with a volunteer program for teens at a hospital. I have participated in French club for three years as well as a French exchange program; someone comes and lives with us for three weeks over the summer (we've done this three times, and i just recently got back from France after a three week stay trying to get some immersion into the French culture).

I have taken the ACT twice, and am taking it again this October; so far, my highest cumulative score is 30, but im trying to bring it up about a point by improving my science. I have also taken the SAT twice, and i am taking it again this fall; my highest math/reading/writing score is only 1940, but i plan on improving it quite a bit. My weighted GPA is 4.28, and i took 2 aps last year (Comparative Government, Psychology), and i am taking 2 aps this year (French, US Government).

The reason i am creating a thread for the question is because i want to know my chances with the consideration of what ive done overall, not just my test scores; trust me, i know those could be better. (i have looked on Cappex to compare with other students, and it seems to simply crush numbers)

If you took the time to read and answer this (or just read it), thank you

Your NJROTC is great leadership experience, which is a plus, but your ACT & SAT scores suggest Davidson will be a reach. Have you taken the most challenging course load offered by your high school?

I take all honors and a few aps

What is the average act/sat score for students who receive admission into the school?

The middle 50% of entering first years in the 2011-12 school year (most recent for which I could find data) had ACT scores of 29-33 (with 46% of first years submitting ACT scores) and SAT scores of 630/640 to 720/730 per section (with 85% of first years submitting SAT scores). In that year, 69% of entering first years who submitted ACT scores had at least a 30 composite score.

Many incoming students submitted both their SAT and ACT scores, so working on improvement in both tests seems like a good plan, if you are aiming for Davidson.

Davidson looks very carefully at the rigor of your courses and your recommendations. Volunteer work is also important to them.

My sister got in with a 2040. But she also visited/toured and talked to the admissions lady for an hour about her problems lol.
