Planning on applying for an MBA at Harvard for 2010 (my 'wishful thinking' school) :). If anyone can look over what I've written and give me a fair view of my chances I would really really appreciate it.

I'm working full time as well as freelancing, volunteering and studying a BA in English Literature by Correspondence with the University of London - my GPA is OK, approx 3.2, I should be done with the BA in July 2010. I've been working full time since 2004. I recently took the GMAT, scored a 700.
My work experience includes Graphic design, teaching languages, teaching Art, secretarial and administrative works and right now I am the Executive Assistant to the Chairman/ owner of a pretty large company (over 1000 employees).
However, I have no accounting background or management background and in my education or experience. As mentioned above, my GPA is not very good and my GMAT score is on the edge. Do I stand a chance?! How can I improve my chances?

your gmat is fine, work exp a bit light (how many years full time), you should really have demonstrated some leadership experience. I’d say its a stretch for you at this point.

I’ve been doing a lot of research on business schools lately, and from what I’ve seen, I’d have to say your chances are pretty slim.

Like storch says, your GMAT is fine, but since you cannot really improve your GPA anymore, retaking and getting a higher GMAT score might improve your chances.

Would taking a Business course (such as Certified Business Professional) be a significant addition do you think?
As for leadership experience, I dont’ have anything specific. However, I do manage the office completely on my own, it is the chairman’s private office and I manage everything in it, as well as carry out general secretarial duties. Two employees report to me in this office. Would this count enough?
I have been working full time since 2004, so I have around 5-6 years experience.
I’m getting bogged down while writing this, I think the more I consider, the slimmer my chances appear! aaaaah
Do you think they would at least read my essays?!

your academic profile is ok but not superb… i believe it would help to have great work experience with leadership… 2 people not enough probably, how many years toatal? dont forget extracarricular and non-profit work… and dont say volunteer, always use “train” “lead”…etc

most important is leadership skills, if your work exp is not long then demonstrate how in less time you can do more than most people do in a lot of time

LOL, will go ahead and ‘dream’ and hope for the best. nothing to lose, a lot to gain. and i do have a safety lined up.
I do a lot of volunteer work in my free time and several part time jobs as well as my full time job. Magic, will take your advice on word usage.
thanks for the feedback.
