chances of getting into lower uc's (merced, riverside)

<p>Im hoping to find out my chances of getting into the lower end UC's, mainly merced for engineering. Also looking to see if i have a shot at the higher UC's</p>

<p>SAT I 1810 (580 reading 720 math 510 writing) Retaking on oct 9th.</p>

<p>SAT II Taken math 2 us and physics, dont remember my scores but math is in the high 600's, i think about 680, us at the low 600, and physics at mid 500.</p>

<p>ACT 29 (30 Reading, 26 Science, 33 Math, 24 eng/writing) Retaking on oct 23rd.</p>

<p>my rank is 122 / 635</p>

<p>Your 720 in the SAT math section will get you into the lower tier UCs like Merced and Riverside since they probably do not get very many applicants who can score over 700 in math on the SATs which is the best predictor of ability to succeed in engineering and the physical sciences. Your CR and W scores are within the ranges that Merced and Riverside will accept. </p>

<p>The upper tier UCs probably get a large number of applicants to their engineering programs with math scores over 700 along with CR and W scores well over 600 so you would probably not be very competitive at the upper tier UCs.</p>
