<p>Hi College Confidential:
Long time reader, first post. I was wondering what my realistic chances of getting into UC Merced are (bioengineering).</p>

<p>UC GPA: ~3.4</p>

<p>ACT: 27</p>

<p>Subject Tests:
570 Mathematics Level 2
450 U.S. History </p>

<p>3 Years Var. Swim.</p>

<p>Only C ever in chemistry.</p>

<p>4.2 GPA freshman year.</p>

<p>How many times have you taken the ACT? If only once take it again to try to boost your score to a 30. I assume you are an incoming Senior. Is your schedule going to be challenging? I would think you are in there for UCM stats but it can’t hurt to try for a little better score.</p>

<p>I would say you have a good shot, but if you’re applying to an engineering program I suggest that you re-take Math 2, and possibly take a science.</p>
