Chances of getting into Northeastern University?

Took a tour of Northeastern University this past week and absolutely fell in love, and I know they've been getting a ton more apps in the past few years.

I was 9th in my class of 417 with an average of 97.97%, though this will be worse after this year... AP chemistry and doubling up in maths was not a good idea for myself. Will definitely be in the top 20 though.

1130 on my SATs... Definitely need to get this up. Have yet to take the ACTs, will be this June.

I have been running cross country since 7th grade, and will be a varsity team captain next year. I also have ran indoor and outdoor track since 7th grade as well.

I've been playing oboe since the 4th grade and have been selected fur various all county bands and orchestras.

I am the vice president of a community running club that is very active in getting younger children involved with running.

I will also be president of character counsel, which the faculty in my school chose me to be in in the beginning of 9th grade.

National honor society member

Will be attending boys state this summer, was chosen to be in this by local vets (pretty excited for this!)

I am also a first generation college student.

I would be applying to their business school, D'amore McKim.

Do you think there would be a possibility of me getting in? I appreciate you taking the time to read this!

I apologise for any spelling, posted on a phone

Forgot to mention, I also hold a part time job on the weekends

I’m curious about what you liked about Northeastern. My D visited there and BU…I’d like to hear another opinion on the campus and students.

that said, your scores (out of 1600, yes?) are low for them…here’s the freshman profile for next year http://www.northeastern.edu/admissions/apply/profile.html

I absolutely love the campus, but I may be partial because I love the city of Boston. It’s kind of an oasis in the middle of the city, with various grass patches all over. Dorms are typical.

The student that lead the tour was absolutely awesome, total bro crush on him, and another student I spoke with was awesome as well. Both seemed extremely active in the club’s in campus, and they both said that they were very uninvolved when they were in high school (though obviously they’re going to send their best examples of students to greet us.)

The coop system seems absolutely wonderful, where students can opt to go to school for 5 years instead of the typical 4 to get more coops in.

The only thing is the price, and whether I get in :)

Would love to get another opinion on this. My past two quarters of high school have not been up to par, getting 94.5% each quarter due to AP Chem killing me as well as doubling up in maths.

Does anyone else have any input or criticism on something to help my chances? I forgot to mention I was a counselor in training two summers ago where I picked up over 120 hours of community service, and last summer was in a video editing/ website management internship.

Is your 1130 out of 1600 or 2400?

You should be good if you can get SAT up to 1300 range

Assuming 1130/1600 SAT…
Northeastern: high match

Good luck!

Thanks for the responses, and yes, the SATs were out of 1600.
