I got straight A’s in high school and went to a highly-regarded university at which I got almost all F’s my first semester. My second semester grades were withdrawn for medical reasons, but I was asked to not come back for sophomore year. I took a semester off and then enrolled in a community college at which I received all A’s. I really want to transfer to NYU but I’m very concerned I won’t be accepted based on my horrible semester at my first school… Do I still have a chance of getting in?
It really depends on the circumstances. As your second semester grades were withdrawn for medical reasons, were these medical reasons present during the first semester (Severely impacting your grades)? If yes, explain this and you might have a chance. But if it is true that you failed the courses because they were too hard, it may be very hard to get into NYU transfer @ees996
Thanks for your response- I did have these medical issues throughout my first year, but the school I attended would only give me withdrawals for my second semester grades unfortunately…
