Hi! So currently I’m wondering about NYU. I already have a low chance of being accepted due to the fact that I dropped out of highscool sophomore year (I’m not sure if it helps, however, it was due to mental health + I had a lot of problems getting along with my family. It was a bad time.) I was wondering if one to two semesters with a 4.0 gpa from cc, a good amount of volunteer hours, recommendation letters from my professors, and a good essay based on my personal life and struggles it could push me through to being accepted? Also what would be a good SAT score that could improve my chances? Really what could improve my chances at all. Some extra information would be I’m Latina and during freshman year of hs I had like a 3.6 - 4.0 gpa while being in almost all honors classes (for all intents and purposes we’ll just say 3.8) and sophomore year well… I started off okay but after a few months before I dropped out it really wasn’t that great. Thanks in advance!
Well I cannot comment specifically, I would recommend trying to do research with a professor if you can find one. That always stands out on applications to top schools.
