Chances of getting into Reed.

SAT: 2130, 770 math, 660 writing, 700 critical thinking.
GPA: weighted academic 4.88, unweighted 4.00
EC: Team Captain varsity* basketball *(I attended a relatively small school), President of math and chemistry clubs, A volunteer DJ and lighting specialist for various organizations.
Awards: National Hispanic Recognition Scholar
I attended an early college high school and will graduate in the spring with an AA in both mathematics and science. (college GPA was also a 4.00 and I will have taken 74 semester units)
Class rank: 1
Essays: I have been told my personal statement was very good and quite moving, but my why Reed essay in my opinion was well written but unmoving.
Visit/interview: Though I really wanted to I did not have a chance to visit or interview.

What are my chances for getting into reed in your eyes?

Obviously, admission/rejection will come down to the intangibles…(recommendation letters, essays, etc…).

Surely, you’re not concerned about your class rank

Seriously, though, I understand your anxiety. Good luck!

When numeric stats are sufficient (yours are), I generally guess 50/50, because stats count so little at Reed.

Well, your lack of visit/interview might hurt you, if you can demonstrate enough passion in your “Why Reed?” essay, then you’d have a pretty good shot.

Seriously? You should be pretty aware of your chances of getting into Reed with those stats and supposedly well written essays.
