What chances do I have of getting into these schools?
My humble opinion is that you are likely to get into USF and unlikely to get into Santa Clara. My daughter has similar, albeit slightly inferior, numbers to your’s and decided it was not worth applying to Santa Clara. Santa Clara has become increasingly more competitive and is now on par with the tougher UC’s as far as admission is concerned.
Match/almost safety for USF and high match for SCU.
SCU acceptance rate is a little south of 50% so you have decent chances. I’m an SCU alum, but to be honest, a school that has tuition costs on a par with Ivies and Stanford needs to be compelling before I consider it these days.
BTW, are you Catholic? That would improve your chances to both schools.
No I am not catholic but I live in Santa Clara. Will being local help my chances of getting in to SCU?
Being local to the area will neither hurt or help your chances, although a large number of Santa Clara students are local.
If you are attending one of the local Catholic schools (Bellarmine comes to mind), that would be extremely helpful.
I don’t attend a local Catholic school, I attend a public high school.
