I'm a junior in high school right now and Syracuse University has been my dream school for years now. I understand that it's easier to get into the Arts and Sciences school and I'm willing to do whatever it takes to get in (I'll most likely apply ED)
I'm a hard worker and an above average student, and I think I have a lot to offer to a prestigious college like SU. I have a 3.5 gpa and I scored a 1750 on my SATs. I do habitat for humanity, mock trial, and model congress. I've been on varsity golf four three years (about to be 4) and on varsity soccer for 1 year (about to be 2). I am a captain for both teams. I am planing on doing a lot more community service, I have work experience at my uncles law firm and I have a great idea for a college essay.
I know that SU is very competitive, but do you think I have any chance?</p>
<p>If you can bump that SAT up a little, you will have a very good chance.</p>
<p>You could post this in the chances thread to get a few more responses. Anyway, IMO, you appear to be a good candidate. If you can retake the SAT for a little higher score, you should be good to go. Good luck!</p>
<p>DD was accepted ED to Syracuse and will be attending this coming fall. Syracuse places a lot of importance on demonstrated interest. Visiting and an interview are a plus. You can apply to your top 3 choices and Syracuse will consider your 2nd and 3rd choices if you are not accepted into your 1st choice program. ED is binding only if accepted to your 1st choice program. Good luck to you.</p>
