I applied out of high school to UNC Chapel Hill and was waitlisted but I never got off of the waitlist. (I'm in-state) Now I go to the second most competitive public college in NC (you can probably guess which one) and I was wondering what my chances probably are as a sophomore transfer.

High School Weighted GPA was a little over 4.6
College GPA is a little over 3.7
Took 5 AP Courses - got all 3's except for one where I got a 4
SAT: Reading:640 Math:650 Writing:740 Essay:10 Altogether: 2030
TONS of extracirriculars in high school (cross country, model un, beta club, nhs, orchestra etc.) but only one main extracirricular in college not including my invitation to join my university's honor program...I've been focusing on grades
I made the Dean's List last semester
I attended Governor's School
I (personally) think that my application essays are well-written and I have a letter of recommendation

I honestly have no idea why you weren’t accepted right off the bat in high school. Were there any glaring errors in your app? Suspension, that kind of thing.

Unfortunately, I don’t know much about transfer admissions. Here’s some blurbs from the tranfer website:

I’ve never had a suspension or anything like that. I just had an extrememly competitive high school class and my rank was something like #28 even with 5 APs and my GPA and everything.
