Hello! I'm an IB Diploma student from Singapore.

The University of SoCal has long been a dream university of mine. I'm currently almost done with my IB Diploma exams, and I'm planning to apply there. Just looking for some opinions on my chances of getting into one of the USC business courses. Other universities I'm looking into are UCSD, UCLA, UCDavis, and CSULB. I'm not terribly confident about my grades, but here goes nothing.

Subject - Predicted

English A Language & Literature (HL) - 6
Business & Management (HL) - 6
ITGS (HL) - 7
Math Studies (SL) - 6
Environmental Systems and Societies (SL) - 5
French Ab Initio (SL) - 4

Adding a two from ToK, EE, and CAS, that brings my total up to a 36. Maybe a 37 or 38 if I'm lucky.

Extra curriculars:
-School facility committee student rep.
-Darts Club
-1 week service/humanitarian trip to Chiang Rai, Thailand
-Over 80+ hours of community service with activities such as donation collecting, coastal cleanups, charity sales
-Organized several school open houses over two years

Other miscellaneous stuff:
-Ranked 3rd best student in my grade
-Top student in half my classes
-Going for two years military service. Enlisted into a leadership unit (potential officer school candidate)
-Native English speaker
-Fluent in Mandarin
-Learning Japanese at the moment (can read basic Japanese)
-One year work experience at a major furniture store
-Current intern position in my school's Administration department

As I'll be in the military for two years, I'll be applying for the Fall 2014 admission, and then applying for 1 year deferment. I've yet to take my SATs, but I'll be doing so on the 1st of June (and probably a few more times after that). All the resources I've seen online give me very varying results on the average USC SAT score. Apart from the maximum, what's a score I should settle for. Is 2150+ good enough?

Also, some of my subjects have a bad rep for being the "party" classes where most of the bad students go, but I'm the top student in all of them. Specifically, ESS, and Math Studies. Unfortunately, numbers aren't my strong point; I'm more of a business/IT systems/humanities person. I'm a little worried about this. Will universities discriminate against these classes?

I'm open to other university suggestions too. I'm hoping to stay within California, as I have some family and friends living there, but I'm open to any good university with an emphasis on business or IT systems.

Anyway, how are my chances looking? Be as brutally honest as possible; don't sugar coat anything. Thanks!
