Low Gpa high sat score... Do I have a chance?

Hello. Im a newcomer onto this site. I've always wanted to go to USC. and im wondering what my chances are...

Gpa-3.59 =( uw no rank or weighted gpa

SAT-2190
Full IB diploma candidate (All classes ive taken are honors and IB) About 75% of the people in my school that does IB have about a 3.7 or higher and some of em are applying to USC... Either Im ridiculously stupid or my school is filled with geniuses

Track 4 years- Captain Senior year. State qualifer for 3 years (non-recruited athlete). Won numerous awards
Wrestling 4 years-Captain senior year.
Sophomore Secretary
NHS, MUN, key club, FCCLA
Volunteer at hospital, tutor spanish students, etc...
Plenty of work experience

What do my chances look like? Any fellow admits that got in with similar stats? Thanks!!

I think you have a fairly good shot. Your GPA is not terrible, and your solid EC’s will help offset, to some degree, those applicants with higher GPA’s and lesser EC’s and test scores. You are competing with all applicants, not just those from your HS. Knowing your class rank or decile would help evaluate your chances even more. Your essays and recs need to be really strong.

thank you! Well my hs does not rank because my school ranks by gpa alone. So, IB students at my school are quite at a disadvantage because they are taking challenging courses yet are ranked lower than people with higher gpas, but much easier classes.

USC wants their applicants to take the most rigorous courseload available so that will, hopefully, work in your favor. I think your athletic EC’s are really strong and will make you a competitive (enough) applicant in this year’s pool.

I’m not betting against you…

bumpy bumpy bump
