I think my Stats are so-so and I was just wondering how much applying early decision would help in getting in?

Applying ED will generally improve your chances, as there’s simply a much smaller pool of applications to select from. But I wouldn’t view it as a probability exercise, but rather as an extended opportunity to convince admissions you belong as a part of the Tribe.

So, make sure your application is as complete and compelling as you can make it; you’ll want a very good essay and consider taking advantage of the optional submission - perhaps to do with your robotics work?

Depending on how your school weights grades, your GPA might be a bit low - a class rank will provide a more accurate picture.

Your AP Scholar with Distinction shows you’ve probably taken the high-level courses W&M expects, and done well with them, so good job there.

If you think you can improve your SAT scores, consider a re-take (bearing in mind the last test date for ED is less than a month away, and registration closes soon) - I don’t know how your 2100 breaks down, but I recommend you try to attain at least 700 in each of the math and CR sections.

So, yes, applying ED will improve your chances, but my own personal caveat - make sure your application is as good as it can be; when it comes to ED, you don’t really get a second chance.

Good luck!
