Dilemma: William and Mary and UVA are my two top choices. I love both schools but I favor UVA slightly more.I feel like I don't have the stats for UVA though and that's why I wanted to apply W and M ED, so I have a decent chance of getting into atleast one of my top two choices. My parents really want me to go to UVA though and they think I have a decent shot Regular decision for both, but I don't. Do you guys think my stats are good enough for W and M and UVA Regular decision? I live in NOVA and my school's Naviance says average gpa accepted for both is like 4.1 so that's why I wanted to use ED to increase my chances at W and M, but I might reconsider if UVA is within my grasp.

Are you in-state? If so, are you NOT in Nova?

If you are from Nova, it is unlikely you will be accepted to UVA with under a 4. It is very likely on the other hand, that you WILL be accepted to W&M with your stats, especially ED.

If you are from somewhere in SW VA, i would say go for UVA if you like it best. But from Nova, go WM ED for your best bet. Then you will be done and can enjoy your senior year (but keep grades above C level of course ;)).

If you are out of state, no chance at UVA, but WM might still be within reach, especially ED.

As for ED/EA vs. RD, I can virtually guarantee you that you will be deferred at best by UVA for EA. You will be accepted ED by WM, especially if you are male. This assumes you are a VA resident.

thanks for the answer and yeah I am in-state NOVA
