Hi! I am an international student (SEA) and was recently put on the waiting list for Faculty of Arts on the 27th of April. I tried to call them and asked if submitting my second-semester grade will be possible. However, they said that it would not give me an advantage. Is there really nothing I can do to raise my chance of getting off the waiting list?
Is there a lot of people declining McGill, specifically Arts? Historically, how hard is it to get off the waiting list?
Has anyone been accepted off the waitlist? I would appreciate any input about the waiting list process.
My son who was accepted to Arts was recently refused from the Science waitlist. He’s still on the Desautels waitlist. I’m not optimistic.
@Omegadoug Did he receive an email notifying him of his waitlist decision?
I saw the decision on Minerva. I don’t know if he got an email.
I just called them and they said that waiting list decisions can be released as late as the end of June. I am worried that I will not be able to apply for a study permit in case I do get accepted (which is unlikely). I am still hoping for the best though.
@Omegadoug thank you for your reply and don’t lose hope! My mother is still optimistic even after my 4 rejections. Maybe no news is good news!
I got off and I was on the waitlist for 2ish months
My daughter go into the Faculty of Arts off of the waitlist on April 20. She confirmed after a quick visit on April 24!
She received an email saying there was a status update, but had not seen it before we randomly checked Minerva in trying to decide between two other schools.
