Chances of gettng into NYU-Poly

I'm currently a sophomore and was wondering about whether or not I could get into NYU Poly.

Current Average: 2.5/4.0 but I can try raising it to around 3.0 by the end of Junior year.

Afterschool Activities:
Volunteered at a pharmacy for about 200 hours the previous summer.
Also Volunteered at a hospital for about 200 hours as well the summer before last.

I attend a well-known high shcool in NYC (Stuy) and was wondering how I can improve to better my chances of getting to NYU-Poly. Also, two of my cousins have attended NYU-Poly, although it was before Poly became accosicated with NYU.

I've only taken the PSAT yet, and without studying at all I got a 178. I plan on taking SAT II in Math2 and Physics.

Also, by graduation I will have completed math up to Calc, 4 years of english, history, science (physics, chem, bio, and some electives), 1 year of compsci, planned 1 year of ap compsci, 1 year of art/music

I hope your 3.0/1780 materializes… you will then be competitive for that school.

Will an SATI of >2000 make up for my 3.0?

I think even a 3.0 is too low for NYU Poly nowadays. With the NYU merger, a more realistic GPA would be 3.5+. But you can always to consider other options such as CUNY City College.

NYU poly has been really hard to get in recently since now it’s NYU school of engineering. You need at least high 1800s and around 3.5 GPA or more… When you apply to NYU poly, you will need to use NYUs application.

Well, 3.0/1780 will make NYU-Poly a reach but you need a CUNY as a backup.
