Chances of going to an Ivy League?

Hello,

I'm going to make this short and sweet.

As a kid born in Italy and coming to the USA at a young age, I didn't find school very valuable. I finished high school with a 2.7 because I didn't value school as much as I should have valued it. It was once I left high school when I realized how important education was. I am now almost 19 and have just finished my first community college semester with a 3.8 GPA and plan on getting 3.7 or higher each semester. I want to be a lawyer, so I will have to go to law school, which I would prefer going to an Ivy League if it's in the cards for me. Might I mention that my parents and I are considered "middle-class." We're not rich, nor will we be any time soon.

What are my chances of being accepted into an Ivy League school if I finish each semester with a 3.7 or higher and scoring very high on my LSAT?

Anyone?

Very very low chance.

The transfer acceptance rate for most Ivies is much lower than regular acceptance rates. Which does not bode well for you or anyone.

I think he’s talking about Ivy League grad school since he mentioned the LSAT.

Yes, SuperN0va is right. I’m talking about Ivy League grad school. I would want to go there after I pass my LSAT. Does everyone’s answers still stand firm even with this information? And oh, are my chances very low because of my high school grades? Or is everyone’s chance of getting in there very low? If so, i’m shocked. What does it take to go to an Ivy League these days? I don’t think i’d be able to pull a James Franco by getting into Yale by getting famous.

I say they are very low because you will be applying from a community college. The rigor difference between Ivies and CC is night and day. So I say odds are not in your favor.

@picklechicken37: Yes, but keep in mind that I can’t get my BS or MS degree in a CC, so i’d have to transfer once I get my AS. I plan on transferring to UCR, which is a great UC in my area. Do my chances still stand very low if I intend on transferring with a BA from there, having received 3.7^ GPA each semester and a very high LSAT score?

I stand by what I said. And that is VERY big if.

I apologize, I misread
