So I'm a little worried that my GPA might be detrimental to my chances of getting in to Harvard. I am a high school sophomore, btw. First off, I have very strong extracurricular activities. I am an avid computer programmer; I placed two apps on the iOS app store, worked at Mass General Hospital over the summer and completely rewrote a virtual simulation tool, and took Harvard's class known as CS50, receiving a B+ at the end (CS50 should have been only for college students but I got in along with a few other high schoolers. I was the youngest one to take it). Additionally, I tutor elderly people at a local assisted living facility. I made the All-State band on trombone (the only sophomore to be accepted this year), and play in the marching band, pit orchestra, jazz band, and am applying to the Massachusetts Youth Wind Ensemble this May. I received the Gilmore Award last year for the most outstanding freshman musician. I have been on the varsity ski team since freshman year, will be receiving a silver community service award this year (that's 175+ hours), and do other leadership activities such as the Student Leadership Team. My problem is that I have a 3.9 GPA this year (unweighted and I had a 4.0 last year). When looking on Naviance, I noticed that many accepted to Harvard had a 4.0+ GPA, and this worries me. My sister is currently there, and she had a 3.99 GPA, and my parents both went. Should I be worried that my chances are a little lower to get in to Harvard?
