Chances of me getting into Engineering or Arts/Science

I am a Korean male from Fort Lee, NJ.
What are my chances of getting into the Engineering program or the Arts/Science program in Cornell..
Also, I am now a junior, so this is all tentative..
Now I realize my resume isn't stellar, but this is my reach school, so I want to know if there's a chance I could get in..

UW GPA - 3.6 (=/, however it is an upward trend)
Class Rank - 41/254 (16% =()

SAT 1: 2320
Math: 800
Reading Comprehension: 770
Writing: 750

SAT IIs:
Math II: 800
Chemistry: 750
Biology M: 780

PSAT's (Do these even count?): 224
Math: 80
Reading: 77
Writing: 67

AP Tests:
Chemistry: 5
World History: 5

Extracurricular Activities:
Freshman Year: Key Club, Band
Sophomore Year: Key Club, Varsity Tennis
Junior Year: Academic Decathlon, Key Club, Debate, Math League, Science League
Senior Year: Academic Decathlon, Key Club, Math League (Treasurer), Science League, (Possibly Debate?)

Community Service: 200+ hours
Tutoring, Latchkey(Basically I go to the elementary schools and babysit kids until their parents come and pick them up), Hospital

Distinctions:
I'm hoping to get a medal or two for Academic Decathlon
National Merit (Hoping to become a Semifinalist at the least)

Internship:
If I don't do anything academic over the summer, I'm probably going to be interning in a big, well-known advertising company in New York City

Essays: Solid
Recs: Solid
Basically my school has like 10-15 people getting into good schools, with almost everyone else going to Rutgers..

So! What I'm asking is, although my GPA isn't stellar, what are my chances of getting into the Engineering program or the Arts/Sciences program at Cornell?

You're in!

Hmm, so apparently you can only edit twice...
Well, I forgot to add this in (Just in case it might help with responses)
Honors Classes I took:
Honors Geometry
Honors Biology
Honors Algebra 2/Trig
Honors Chemistry
Honors Precalc BC
Honors Physics
Honors English 11
AP World History
AP Chemistry
AP Calculus BC
AP Biology
Honors Italian 2 (I took Spanish until Spanish 3, but was forced to drop it due to scheduling conflicts in my junior year =()
AP English 12
AP Government

Also another important thing to note..
I probably won't get into National Honor Society..since they only take the top 10% (top 25 people)

In b4 someone is going to say denied.

You have a very good competitive chance, and what you do over this summer can be a good boost to your resume. What I recommend that you do is start thinking about your essay and think about doing ED. You'll need all the time you can get to make your essay as unique as you can. The essay is probably going to be the major thing you can control on the basis of what you present to Cornell.

Hmm, thanks for the replies
Two questions though, do you think I should apply for the Arts/Sciences ED or Engineering as my first choice?
Also, Do you recommend me taking an internship for an advertising company (Doesn't really have anything to do with what I want to major in..) or should I try to look for some college summer programs?

do you want to do arts/science or do you want to do engineering?

the second choice affects like .1% of applicants so its barely worth even doing, from what I understand its mostly for if your interested in similar programs like say arts and science physics and applied engineering physics.

anyway you have a decent chance at either since your sats are so high and your ecs are decent. Though it would be better if your ecs had more consistency, though your junior and senior activites are similar so I guess it just took you a little while to find stuff you liked which the admission councilors may understand. Your chance is probably a little better at engineering though, but you shouldn't base your decision on which to apply too on that.

You should get in. The question is why would you want to be an engineer? Go to the arts school and double major (one science, one humanities). Then you'll be ready for grad school

Ahh, I see..
Thanks for all the replies
And well, I was thinking of the Engineering program since Engineering is one of the majors I was thinking of doing.. =</p>

I think you are definitely in Cornell (with the 1570) if you get the GPA up a little more.

It showed you didn't really apply yourself in HS with such high scores.

apply for engineering, it’ll make my chances for A&S a little better, hehe

Just kidding, I am very jealous of your scores, I take the SATS one last time Saturday, and I think thats what’ll determine my acceptance or not, as I have good GPA, rank, classes, ECs

Apply engineering.

What majors were you thinking?
Engineering really is about practical and applied sciences. It is very much rooted in taking the sciences and getting useful products/information out of them.

If you are more interested in the purely theoretical, I’d say go for A&S.

well if you want an engineering major, apply there if it’s what you really want.

and i agree… compared to your scores, your grades are a little iffy. can you somehow explain that in an essay?
