Chances of transferring into CCNY

I am currently at Kingsborough after failing out of Hunter College with a gpa of 0.38. During that time I really hated going to college and I basically dropped classes or just didn't go for about 3 semesters. The only class i ever completed was sociology in my first semester because it was super easy to pass and required little to no effort. By Fall 2011 I left school and ended up getting job and tried to figure out what I wanted to do with my life.

In summer of 2012 I started making Tumblr themes and that ended up leading to an interest in computer programming. So I watched some videos and did a couple of open course ware classes and found I really like it so I figured I'd go back to school to major in CS. But Hunter wouldn't let me back in and I was told to go to Kings borough through their New Start Program. I wanted to get into for the fall but it was too late so I started in Spring 2013.

I want to to transfer to City through Direct Admissions to later get into their Grove School of Engineering. My average is now a 3.2 but on their site it says they average the gpa of all your college transcripts and that the minimum is 2.7. With my 3.2 and .38 average it's certainly not going to be above 2.7.

CCNY is the only school that has an accredited CS program which is a requirement for certain scholarships.

Like you said, based solely on GPA, it might be tough to get in.
Im a current student there, and I also heard a rumor that engineering will no longer accept students from other CCNY divisions. So that means in order to get into Grove, you will have to apply there directly and of course be accepted. Again, that may be only a rumor, but that is what I heard last semester.
Either way, best of luck to you and let me know if you have any questions about CCNY.

Yep, might be though
