Chances of transferring into Rice University?

Hello,
I was was wondering what were going be my chances of getting accepted/transferring into Rice University.
My high school GPA is low like a 3.01. SAT: 1893 ACT:28 I’ll retaking my SAT and ACT. I’m trying to reach a 1900+ on the SAT this year and a ACT of 30+. I’m currently in a community college taking my basics. I am trying hard to receive a 3.8 GPA or higher in 60 college credits by the end of four semesters. Before thinking about going into a community college, I was accepted to other university such as Duke, Cornell, and Vanderbilt but I was rejected from Rice. I think it was because of my SAT was in the 1890’s and my ACT was a 28. But I chose to enroll into a community college because either way i’ll be paying out-state tuition and a community college is offer the basics and cost efficient.

Is there any chance for me to transfer into Rice? With a 3.8GPA+ (60 college credits) with a SAT:1900 or ACT:30+?
Even though my high school GPA isn’t good enough would they see that I improve in college?

Hey MExeter15,

Current Rice student here. Your GPA should be 3.8+ and SAT 2100/2200+. I have a friend who applied from UT Austin business with a 4.0 and 2100 but still got rejected as a transfer. Admissions game is crazy these days. Best of luck!
