I’m currently a student at WCC, and I’m applying with 55 credits. My high school stats were awful as I had a 3.1UW GPA and 20 ACT. Admittedly, I didn’t take anything seriously and I definitely regret it now. Will UM still look at my high school stats if I apply in junior standing? I have a 3.72 at WCC and I’m also an URM. Do I have any chances at LSA?
I wanted to major in MIS and work in data analytics or business intelligence, but I noticed UM doesn’t offer an undergraduate MIS major (please correct me if I’m wrong). So I instead thought about majoring in Econ or CS (with a Data and Information track) and minoring in Sociology. Would this be the best path for data analytics/business intelligence?
Also, how much harder are the upper level Econ or CS classes at LSA compared to Washtenaw? I know an EE major at UM, and he told me that the classes at WCC are ridiculously easy and that a 4.0 at WCC translates to <3.0 at UM. Is this true?
