I'm caucasian and hail from northern NJ (Bergen county). Not related to any alumni / siblings attending NYU.

I hear the math institution is top notch. I'm wondering what my chances are.

Thanks!

Try reposting this in the transfer forum. You will probably get more replies there.

I try to avoid responding to "chances" threads since my opinion is worth what you pay for it - namely nothing - but Courant is near and dear to me since I spent many years there.

I think your chances are excellent. Understand that you are applying to CAS not to Courant, which probably will not see your application. Visit the Courant web-site and look at the fantastic opportunities available for math majors. You could stress this as one reason you want to transfer. I think they ask you to tell them why you want NYU as part of the transfer application.

You heard correctly. Courant is indeed top-notch.

Best of luck to you.

if you don't get in then i will personally jump out my apartment window
