Chances on transferring into UCLA and their film school?

Hi everyone I am currently a sophomore who is looking to transfer into UCLA for my junior year of college from Chapman University in Orange County. I am also a tv major at Chapman's film school which has become a highly ranked film school. I was wondering that if I am trying to transfer into UCLA's film school, a school where last year alone they only took 15 transfer students out of like 500, would coming from a good film school help my chances?..and what else would I need to increase my chances. If anyone knows anything about transferring into UCLA and also into their film school that would help so much! Thanks!

unlike other majors you need letters of rec for uclafs

their is no way to “chance” you because you need LOR, 5 essays, and a supplemental application. I believe their is an interview process as well. Also you didn’t include your GPA or amount of units taken.

check out their website, it’ll give you a broader understanding of their admissions:

as far as your school’s reputation, i guess it can’t hurt that it’s a well known university in film (although i’ve never heard of chapman)

best of luck!

I am in the same kind of boat, I am wondering if you have been accepted yet or not?

UCLA film school also requires a portfolio of your work as well. It’s definitely the most difficult major/program to get into at the school because of all the supplementary application stuff. You’re basically set for a Hollywood gig if you’re one of the lucky few that gets in. My brother’s friend graduated from the film program and he works for Pixar now.

Does anyone know when they usually call for an interview??? ( i have applied to an Undergraduate Film program at the UCLA)
