Chances opinion needed ASAP

SAT: M 790 V 660 W 630 (taking this over)
GPA: dont look too good 90.1 (our school dont weigh)
(by the way: does college take apart your avg and put emphasis on some while not others? like do they focus on the art and musics and health?)

i come from the Bronx High School of Science, my teacher said it was known to the colleges to be competitive, but i dont think that boost my stats up any more than it already is.

i do intel and volunteering. last summer, my intel hours comes to about 350. this summer i am doin hospital volunteering along with intel.. the hours should come up to like 800. But i dont think the hours really matter, i have a passion with working along side the nurses at the hospital. i help draw blood sometimes and feed the patients and other little things. i am the BA at the unit i work in.

im in orchestra, but i am gonna get out of it to have ap chemistry, ppl told me thats not the greatest idea, but whats done is done... lol...

(another question: the class that pulled my grade down is simply history. I suck in history, no matter how hard i try. the teacher i had this yr just sucks, the department of hisotyr is trying real hard to fire him cuz he literally does not teach. my college mentor is going to help explain my history score to the colleges. Do you think that the colleges would try to understand my situation? are they gonna take into consideration that my history is the only major thing pullin me down? i am definitely going into med, but having a low history avg is probably getting me out of that "well-rounded" circle.... what do you guys think? what ever you say would be a great help. tkz)

the classes i ma takin next yr... hopefully. ap chem, ap physics, honor eng, ap microeconomics, ap calculus BC, ap psychology(if i decide not to take lunch), and intel.

why do you need chances asap? you chances are pretty good, my situation is similar to yours and everyone has told me i have a pretty good chances of getting into Vandy. By the way, do not skip lunch to take a class...your couseload is rough enough as it is...besides, do not get in the habit or morgaging your life just to get into a college with a good name...taking AP Psych will not really change your chances anyway

Your intel and commununity service hours are going to go up 450 hours over this one summer?

Over 8 hours per day for 56 days, huh?

lol magicmonkey u were close... 10 hours per day for 52 days

ap psychology(if i decide not to take lunch),

what the heck. dont skip lunch just to get in one more ap. yuck.

chill out, sheesh. your chances are as good as anyone's. it's not easy to project admissions outcomes anyway.

im in orchestra, but i am gonna get out of it to have ap chemistry, ppl told me thats not the greatest idea, but whats done is done... lol...

and that's dumb^. if you're any good at your instrument, you should def. stick to it.

colleges consider if you are taking the hardest courseload availible. they do not mean skiping lunch and quitting orchestra to take more aps. whatever suits you.

agreed...don't give up what you are good at and what you enjoy to take an additional AP. Especially don't give up your lunch (c'mon - you have got to eat).

I would say that your chances are pretty good. Test well, get good grades...Your ECs seem great! You have a lot of community service! The one thing that I must bring up (because I am a grammar nerd) is that you have to make sure that your essay is well done. Not only must the content be solid, but the grammar must be flawless. (the reason that i bring that up is because of the numerous grammatical errors in your post). lol!

Good luck!

haha nice observation taw19, tkz for the headup

not a problem. Good luck!
