chances. original, i know.

i'm just starting to get onto colleges now that my junior year is pretty much at a close. as for a little background, i was in an international school setting for my freshmen year and unexpectedly moved to california (i was pretty much told about this moving plan as i entered the second semester of my freshmen year), where i now attend a prestigious private high school. first language is english though because i lived in the states for the first 9 years of my life before moving abroad.

i'm probably applying early action to stanford.

Stats:
GPA (W): 4.0 // looking at a 4.15? by the end of senior. 8 AP classes total, 9 AP tests.
SAT I: 680 reading, 780 math, 790 writing (essay: 12) [2250]
SAT II: 800 math II, 800 korean, taking lit and phys in june (projecting about 700-750 [keeps oscillating] and 800, respectively)
ACT: taking in june, but projecting at least a 35.
PSAT: 229.

Extra-curriculars:

Volleyball-- Varsity freshmen (different school), JV sophomore, JV junior (captain and coach's award), Varsity senior.

Basketball-- JV freshmen (different school // captain and coach's award), discontinued in new school but decided to play in a competitive league of churches. currently co-captain of the team and will carry that onto next year.

School Business-- Office Manager and Financial Manager (takes up a good load of my time) as a junior, part-time executive member as a senior because conflicts with my trimester with volleyball

Community service-- Translate letters from Korean into English for people who support orphan kids in Mexico through a specialized Christian program. I support a kid myself financially and write him letters through the same organization. Most kids are all under the age of 8-ish.

School government-- Class Treasurer as a freshmen and that's it so not much meaning to that.

Symphony-- highest level of orchestral music in school. 1st violin sophomore year to senior year.

those pretty much sum up my EC's. they are few but i invest a lot of time in them.

Summer Activities:

Freshmen summer-- attended a camp designated for Korean-American kids who study at prestigious schools in the states that touch upon fundamental skills useful for standardized tests and such. was appointed "valedictorian" of the camp.

Sophomore summer-- NYLC: named notable alumni of my school to have attended. interned for a month at Helio, Inc. with Business Development--established content deals with three third-party companies, edited the legal agreement to fit the interests of the companies i dealt with. visited Korea and coached as an assistant for the varsity team at my old school until i had to come back for school (mostly helping new players learn the positions and adjust to the program).

Junior summer-- Summer College at Stanford for 8 weeks.

so... yeah. chances?

ORM status and your lack of school spirit hurts you. Other than that, good luck.

your lack of school spirit hurts you

Why is that?

Well-roundedness is liked by colleges. I see no evidence of spirit.

Don't you have to have at least some spirit to be captain of a sports team?

does being ORM hurt your chances?

yeah, it does.
