In state without a doubt, and out of state your stats look stellar as well. I’d say you’re definitely in!

If you don’t get in, I will really question who gets in! I am on west coast and GPA at college prep school is 3.6. ACT is 31 and lots of ECs. I know two out-of-staters with similar profiles as mine. One was rejected and one was admitted. Who knows?

I hope you get in. Our stats are incredibly similar. Other than the 4.0 UW GPA. That’s impressive haha

:) Ah, good! I’m excited that my application will be pretty competitive then! I just don’t really want to go to school in California (unless I get into UCLA), and I loved North Carolina when I lived there.

A student run bio-tech company? I’m intrigued. Tell me more.

Well, our biotech class at our high school started a biotech company that sells buffers to local labs. We’re just getting started, but when we return for the new year, we’re really hoping to take off. We get our economic backing from some companies that are investing in us (I’m pretty sure they get to write it off on their taxes, so that’s good for them!). The students in our class pretty much come up with everything that has to do with the company: the name, the logo, the business cards, the letter head, we make the actual buffers, we package them, we deal with our own money, we do everything. All the proceeds go back into the class, so we get to do more labs and buy new, shiny equipment. The appeal of our buffers is that they are environmentally friendly, cheap, and can be custom made to any order. Its pretty cool.

Its not really meant to make tons of money, but its a really good experience for us. We kind of see how biotech works in the real world, but on a small scale.
