I'd really appreciate any insight you guys have seeing as how you were already accepted! Thanks in advance.

What state are you from? (Il.)? If you are not from NC. Your chances are fair at best. I believe the Out of state acceptance rate is around 18%.

I'm not sure it's possible to know the oos acceptance rate exactly.

For 2005, there were a total of 18706 oos and instate applicants. And 650 oos applicants and 3100 instate applicants actually enrolled. But because they don't tell you how many of the 18706 applicants were from oos, or how many oos applicants were actually accepted, it's impossible to compute the oos acceptance rate. Nevertheless, because of the NC law restricting the number of oos students at UNC and other state universities, admission is pretty difficult. We were told at parent orientation, that stat varies between 15% and 19% each year. After the Newsweek article naming UNC-CH as a 'new Ivy', the coming years will probably be very competitive.

Admission to UNC is tougher than UVA for OOS students.....UVA ENROLLS almost 30% OOS compared to UNC's cap of 18% (roughly 550 students per class)which based on the number of applicants is far less than an 18% admit rate.
