I am going to take the Sat's in May..late reg. or June and again in October is this good enough? My PSAT's were 1900, I know I need like at least 2100 though.

Junior Year- So far around 4.8

Rank is 43/308
This yr, only AP is AP Psych, next yr AP Bio, AP Chem, possibiliy Anat. Phys.

I am thinking about Rutgers Ernest Mario, what would I need to do to be accepted, any other pharmacy progs I would have a shot at? I am in nj btw.

Rutgers is the most competative 6 year pharmacy school in the country, especially if your out of state. It will be tough for you considering your not in the top 10%. For northeast 6 year Pharm.D programs try St. Johns, Albany College of Pharmacy, Northeastern, University of Sciences in Phiadelphia, Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, Long Island University and Duquesne University.

thanks for replying you guys, yeh i know its competitive, i'd rather a less competitive school be just as close to me. I am probably going to try to get into USP. And yes, our school's gpa's are pretty crazy, mine is about 3.85 unweighted, but our school weights honors/aps up to a scale of about 5.2. Do you think I'll have a chance at USP? thank you

Long Island University isn't a 6-year program. It's 2+4 where you apply after sophmore year.

Considering you're a resident of New Jersey, your grades are near the stats they usually accept. Don't feel discouraged! Out of state is wayyyy different. Just make sure you do well in hardcore science and math courses. I guess the only thing I suggest is to take an AP in a math course. Other than that, keep up the good work and gluck with the Satz.

Lol, I live 20 minutes away from Long Island University. I applied this year to their prepharm program and in their acceptance letter, they're like it's not guranteed that students from prepharm will accelerate to the professional phase.

The only 6year pharmD prograrm in New York City is St. John's. But overall The other guranteed 6-year is Albany College of Pharmacy in Albany.

Yes, pretty much. If you're in it for the money (which MANY pharmacists are), then you are looking to have as little debt after graduation as possible.

I guess I would be in it for the money, but I really am thinking about just majoring in Bio, then get a masters, hopefully become a researcher at a pharmaceutical, then get a PhD possibly in neuroscience. I really have a passion for psychology as well as medicine and research. I am not sure what to do because I just want to do research, no retail work. Is my best bet just to major in Bio, or is it possible to be PharmD and do search?
