From Nebraska. Rigorous college prep school, with a semi-rigorous course load (5 AP classes, 4 AP self-study tests. Also, a few honors classes.

Caucasian, male, Jehovah's Witness

Good recommendations and an essay dealing with how a parent's addiction has influenced me as a person.

As for extra-curriculars, no real leadership positions, but I was a varsity athlete for three years, have done political campaign work, have held a job since freshman year (at times two jobs). Also, around 500 hours of community service.

Do I have a chance at any of these?

University of Washington (out of state)
UT Austin (out of state)
George Washington University
Pepperdine
Santa Clara
NYU (Stern?)
Wake Forest
University of Miami

i'm also a senior and ill give you the my thoughts for the few schools that i know of and have researched into.

Your academic stats are nothing spectacular, but they aren't horrific either. =)

the essay on your parents addiction should really help you out!

UT-Austin --> its really hard to get into OOS for biz, but the fact that your school doesn't rank, i think, helps you out a lot (they are very rank based).
Slight Reach/Match

Wake Forest --> Reach

NYU Stern --> Reach (this school i know for a fact is crazy hard to get into..but who knows right? )

Good luck, i'm also applying to UT-Austin. !!!

I realize that my scores/stats aren't terrific, and that most/all these schools are reaches, but I've already been accepted into 3 safety schools so I figure what the hell!

Thank you poi, I appreciate it. I was thinking along the same lines as you were, though I thought UW was going to be a reach for me. If I can get in, even the better!

I'm on the East Coast so I don't know much about most of your schools.

But I do think you're definitely in at UMiami and I think you have a good shot at GW. Stern is extremely hard to get in to but don't rule it out completely- you have a shot!

You look pretty solid to me, academically and EC-wise. I'd say you get into most of your schools. I know for sure that NYU Stern and Austin are really hard to get into (In top 10 Business Undergrad programs). I'm applying to NYU Stern too! Maybe see you there next year?!
