Thanks, I really appreciate it. I will chance back if you want.

Welcome to CC! Where the extraordinary are ordinary, the overachieving come standard, and incredulously amazing profiles come standard. Yes, I’m exaggerating, but only by a little, whether that’s a good thing or not. So then…

First things first. Tone down on the Ivies, stat. All in all, from tests to ECs, your profile is not exactly up to par. I see academics as a bright spot, but not particularly so. Brown, Dartmouth, UPenn, and Duke are all reaches. Rice is probably a reach too. I’m not sure how I’d classify WUSTL and Northwestern, probably both as low reaches. Carnegie…uh…high match. Penn State is, I’m assuming, your safety. I don’t mean to seem crude or demeaning, especially since I feel that I’m in the same boat as you for the most part, but that’s the situation.

My apologies for the wording. I meant your ECs are a bit…typical. Many Asian applicants have very similar ECs to yours (me included), so while it is very impressive by itself, it is not unique enough to provide a solid grapple.
But to be honest, if I were you, I’d aim to get other chancers. I am less-qualified and less-informed than many chancers around here.

Brown (ED) - in
Dartmouth - good reach
Penn - reach
Rice - reach
Duke - reach
WUSTL - in
Northwestern - good reach
Carnegie Mellon - in
Penn State and Honors (Schreyer’s) + also interested in BS/MD - in

Holy Cross and Tufts both great pre-med programs and easier to get into than Duke and Ivies. Holy Cross has new $70 million science building and several internships in science field.

Your EC’s are solid, your SAT 2400 score is a bit low though, but your SAT 2’s are great. WIth an interesting essay, I would give you a solid chance at Dartmouth/Brown and a very good chance at northwestern, I don’t know enough about the other schools to comment. You’re as solid as many! good luck and please chance me back

I think you can get into UPenn ED pretty easily. Your GPA is really good, and you should do well in your October SAT (I would focus more on that ACT than SAT though because you scored higher). Also, more applicants go through colleges through ED than RD. Your other schools are a good range, but don’t you think you’re doing too many Ivies? Any UCs, top privates (Stanford, USC, etc.), or liberal arts colleges? But overall, you should be fine. Work on those essays, and good luck!
