<p>Hey, just wanted to know what you all think about my chances at:
Princeton, Duke, Johns Hopkins, Rice, UNC-CH, UM-AnnArbor, UPenn, Swarthmore, USC, Georgetown, and Northwestern (I know im applying to a lot of schools, but why not, right?)</p>

<p>Asian Senior
SAT: 1500 (720 V, 780 M)
ACT: 35 average (36 Science, 35 Math, 34 Verbal, 33 Reading)
SAT2: Math IIC 790, US Hist 750, Writing 740, Bio-M 690, Bio-E 670, Chem 660
AP: Euro Hist 4, US Hist 4, Eng Lang. 5, Stat 4, Psych 4, Chem 3, Bio 4
Class Rank: 70/350 (public school with messed up ranking system)</p>

<p>EC: National Forensics League (600+ points, secretary/treasurer last two years)
Yearbook Editor
Multicultural Club Co-president
Student Council Senator
National Merit Semifinalist (probably Finalist)
Bunch of smaller things (German Club, Programming Club, multitiude of competitions like JETS (2nd in region) and NEDC (1st in nation), etc.)
Volunteer 400+ hours, mostly at hospital
PA Governors School for Science</p>

<p>Assuming good recs and essays, what do you think? Thanks!</p>

<p>I am also applying to Emory, Univ. of Pittsburgh Honors, Penn State Honors, Case Western, Wash. in St. Louis, and Columbia. I applied to UPenn early decision.
I also forgot I played on the tennis team for 4 years, conducted research at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, have played the piano for 9 years (multiple awards) and violin (Pittsburgh Youth Symphony Orchestra, Three Rivers Young Peoples Orchestra).</p>

<p>Your test scores all look outstanding enough for any school. Your National Merit status is a big plus too. But what's your GPA? I'd assume it isn't good looking at your class rank.</p>

<p>All I can say for now is you've got some guts in filling out all the applications for so many schools and paying their application fees...</p>

<p>Sorry- my GPA is 3.80/4 unweighted and 4.80/5 weighted. I don't think this matters, but Im middle class from Pennsylvania; Im also an AP scholar; ive taken all honors/AP courses in high school (most out of any other student), but my school only counts 4 honors classes per semester towards weighted GPA, and honors and AP classes count the same, so thats why my class rank sucks so much (a few too many Bs haha) thanks again for the help!</p>

<p>Just remember that your essays and recs should be excellent. Just my 2 cents. Hope this helps. :)</p>

<p>You'll need a heck of a great app and great recs to penetrate the better schools on your list. You're solid at UMichigan, USC, Georgetown and Northwestern.</p>

<p>17 schools! Wow, I wouldn't spend that much money! Good luck.</p>

<p>Actually- Im pretty lucky- I don't have to pay application fees to Case Western, Pitt, Penn State, Swarthmore, Johns Hopkins, Washington in St Louis, USC, or UNC. That still is a lot of money though, especially with reporting your scores</p>
