Also found out a couple of weeks ago that I'm getting a poem published in an anthology, planning on submitting more of my things. HS doesn't rank, but is very competitive in the state.

O cmon...are you just trying to write this all because you want people to see your stats? Thats so stupid. You know you have a good chance. I just think it's annoying when people try to advertise themselves.

Well considering that his M+Cr ( the important bits are both under 700) and in the ultra-SAT-centric society we call CC, I think he might be worried about his SATs, hopping that his ECs cancel out. Also no SAT 2s, average GPA, you can see why he's asking. I think you'll be fine, your AP Eng/ magazine editor/ honors math more than prove that your CR and M skills are fine. They'll take your scores down as a crappy day since you've been proving proficiency your whole life.

what do you mean depends on what school your applying to?if i have a 1300 on the SAT and have a 3.2 GPA and have extracircculars such as:JV basketball, JV baseball, and volunteer work, also if ive taken honors classes with ap classes. do u think i have a shot to get in?

While I appreciate the jist of what you said, I somewhat resent and don't quite udnerstand why you think I'm trying to "advertise my stats." I don't really know much about NYU, and was hoping to learn some more about it. Are my chances really that good for the basic undergrad CAS? If so I honestly didn't expect them to be. Thank you for the insight though, indirect though it may be.

I don't think he's trying to advertise his stats; he's merely trying to get some feedback.
anyway georgia, I think you have a relatively good chance of getting in.. you might have been worrying about your average looking (weighted already?) GPA & SATs, but your ECs seem well above average.
good luck! :)
