What are my chances??

On the surface you look good, but what is your rank?--Please don't say that your school doesn't rank. If it doesn't then give an honest estimate.
You've got a very good GPA, SAT, AP load, very good EC's. You are IS. However, I just don't see the rank there.
I'd say you are in! But IMO, rank is so important, and I believe that UVA thinks so too? However, not being on the adcom, I don't want to speak for them.
Yes, you are in!

My rank is 10/345. Thanks so much for that Confidence Booster!!!!!

OMG!! Say no more!! You are a definite!!! Just curious--where else are you applying?? Have a nice Christmas, because I don't think you'll have many worries this holiday!

I just believe that you can apply to some better universities. Just have a try, maybe you can get somethng more exciting!

You are shoe-in for UVa. I agree with Bavaria...try schools that are slightly higher than UVa e.g Emory, Vandy, Rice, etc.

Bavaria89, well, I take a little offense at your statement about "some better universities", but I know where you are going with this. That's why I asked where else OP was applying, because there's a lot of potential with OP's stats.
Last year I got accepted to 3 schools that were technically ranked better than UVA, including an Ivy, (US News and WR). But I kept coming back to wanting to be at this university in CVL--with such high academic standards, and living on TJ's grounds, and living in the heart of the Blue Ridge. And, here I am! It's a great school and a fun school. I'm glad that I made the decision that was right for me. Good luck in everyone's decision process.

jask and bavaria, watch your words. Emory and Vandy (and possibly even Rice) are certainly in the peer group of UVA, it is simply easier to get into UVA in state that any of those schools. I call that a good deal :). The question becomes, will any of those schools set him up better than UVA, and the answer is essentially no. It should come to personal preference, if he makes a choice between even the lower ranked ivy's and UVA based only on academics and rep then he has made an ill informed choice.

Either way, your in.

I'm terribly sorry if I have offensed others. But actually, I have never said Emory or Rice is better than UVa. Personally, I steadfastly believe that UVa is better for instate students than Emory and Rice. What I mean is that he can try the Ivy.
Anyway, everyone has his/her personal preference. powderpuff and ehiunno is right.
So, I apologize for any inaccuracy in my words.

no way man, i didn't think it was offensive. I just thought it was inaccurate. No worries :)

I appreciate the apology, but I wasn't really too badly wounded. That's why I said "a little offended". Not to worry, have a great holiday!

Yea um the ppl in my school (OOS) who got rejected from UVA have higher stats than those who got into Rice and Emory.... So dunno about that claim of them being better than UVA. :P

yeah, and the people that got in ED at my school would have been laughed at by Rice admissions...

IS ft..w?...l?

Bump please

I'm just wondering is the College of Arts and Sciences easier to get into than the College of Engineering? If so what are my chances for the CE?

Your fine in both but they say engineering is slightly harder. Some argue the other way. Engineering has a higher acceptance rate but has significantly higher average GPA/SAT. It is a more "self-selecting" group.
